One Day in Woodstock
Welcome to Woodstock! Home of the 1969 Woodstock: Three Days of Peace & Music Festival.
But not really. The Festival actually took place in Bethel , NY, but Woodstock gets all the fame to this day.
Woodstock is a cute village situated near the Catskills in Upstate New York. Despite being a huge tourist location, there isn’t much to do in Woodstock; but that isn’t necessarily a bad thing. It’s an easy location to tackle in one day, and you’ll leave feeling fully refreshed from the smooth, hippy vibes.
I came here with my partner, Seth, for a day of excursions: it’s an easy trip when you only live 45 minutes away. We parked in the municipal lot (there’s only one, you can’t miss it), which we had to pay for (only $5 for the whole day), and the first thing I spotted was this adorable old school bus that was painted pink (pictured above). I was like “I NEED to take a picture with that bus”. The owners were nowhere in sight, so I couldn’t really ask for permission (which I still feel slightly guilty about), but I made sure to block out the license plate, so that forgives me, right?
Afterwards, we spent the day going through all the cute clothing, hippie, candle, zero waste, and art shops, eating at Bread Alone, and getting ice cream from the best: Sweet Dreams Organic Ice Cream (I recommend the Mexican Hot Chocolate flavor!!). The most adorable bench was situated outside of Sweet Dreams, so of course I had to take a picture with it. Seth really is such a great sport, I probably make him take 300 photos a day any time we do something remotely interesting.
As I did not realize I would be writing a blog post about Woodstock when I went (this is my first blog post, yay!), I didn’t really get any photos of just the village itself or the businesses we went into, just me posing in the two outfits that I brought with me. For that, I apologize. However, I will include everywhere that we went below and links to the respective websites so that you can see if any of the places interest you.
Also feel free to check out my other trips on TripAdvisor! Scroll to the very bottom of this page and click on the TripAdvisor icon to view my TA Profile! Thanks so much!
Thanks so much for reading my first blog post! Because this is my first, it was a bit short and I’m still learning. Any and all feedback would be amazing.
